That was too much of a good thing for Tim Raue (48): Yesterday’s “Kitchen Impossible – The Christmas Edition” on the private broadcaster VOX, the star chef and his partner Max Strohe (40) refused a task they were given. TV cooking legend Tim Mälzer (51) competed with his colleague Lucki Maurer (42) against Raue and Strohe and sent his opponents to Italy, more precisely to Mattinata. There they had to cook a three-course meal, which was then evaluated by a jury. But they kept their hands off the starter.
They were served a panettone, a classic Italian pastry traditionally eaten in the run-up to Christmas. Raue and Strohe kept their hands off it, although they liked it very much: “You just noticed that there was an incredible amount of craftsmanship, love and experience in it. It was a masterpiece.” Actually, he is someone who accepts all challenges. In this case, however, a limit had obviously been crossed: “You have to know when enough is enough.” For the first time in his “Kitchen Impossible” career, Raue did not accept a task.

In the end, however, this didn’t matter: Despite the 0 points for the refused starter, Raue and Strohe prevailed against Mälzer and Maurer with 6.6 points to 4.1 points. The pasta with chickpeas and fish with tomato sauce was perfectly adequate.
