Seventh round for Kitchen Impossible: Mälzer food processor sharpens the knives again
Tim Mälzer just keeps surfing the wave of success with the TV cooking show Kitchen Impossible.

There can only be one king in the jungle. In the kitchen jungle of “Kitchen Impossible” that’s Tim Mälzer. From Sunday he will cook in the seventh season of the successful cooking show again against everyone who wants to pug his crown.
Tim Mälzer and Kitchen Impossible, that’s love. Clear. Sometimes love-hate. But one that lasts. The Hamburg chef has been riding the wave of success with his TV show for a total of six seasons, and the seventh round will start on Sunday. Then the top chefs will sharpen their knives again for the culinary one-on-one.
There are old friends and new acquaintances. This time the Hamburg chef has to play against Cornelia Poletto, Haya Molcho, Viktoria Fuchs, Björn Swanson, Sven Wassmer, Alain Weissgerber and Hendrik Haase. Why does Mälzer deal with the stress year after year? “As is well known, you grow with your challenges,” he said in advance. “And even if every show is always a new challenge and the development process is sometimes really hard – afterwards you’re all the more happy and proud to have made it again.”
Kitchen Impossible travels again
In the new season, it’s finally going back into the culinary world outside of the German-speaking area. That had recently not been possible due to the corona pandemic. This time, however, we’re going on a journey of discovery in Albania, Norway and Ireland, among other places. “It is well known that home is the most beautiful place. But the format also means that we go on emotional journeys of discovery – in the truest sense of the word,” says Mälzer. “And there’s still so much great things to experience out there – sometimes the competition takes a back seat. What stays above all are the impressions, the people, the snapshots of the country and its people.”
Also this time the makers have come up with special “candies”. This season, for example, there will be a team duel against the “Healthy Boy Band”. Mälzer and Sepp Schellhorn, who fought a “really dirty fight” in the last season (read more here), fraternize to put the next generation of cooks in their place. They have to prove themselves against the trio Felix Schellhorn (yes, the son), Philip Rachinger and Lukas Mraz, who are currently stirring up the gourmet scene as young chefs.
For the big grande finale, the “Best Friends Edition”, there will be big fireworks again. The two Tims, Mälzer and Raue, blow the attack like so often. After Buddy Alexander Herrmann, the “Franconian Baron”, turned the duo into a trio infernale last year, Max Strohe takes on the task this time.
