King Charles III and the king’s wife Camilla traveled to Scotland to express their thanks to the parish of Ballater.

King Charles III (73) and King’s Consort Camilla (75) have visited the Scottish parish of Ballater in Aberdeenshire and thanked its residents for their support after the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). The Queen started her last journey there in September. From the Balmoral estate she was taken first to Edinburgh and from there to London with the support of “fire and rescue services, Scottish Police officers and volunteers”. it is also said in an Instagram post.

Just a few miles from Balmoral, Charles and Camilla attended a reception. Photos from the event show people queuing at Ballater railway station to greet the new king and his wife. The 73-year-old wore a traditional kilt and a smart gray blazer. His wife opted for a checked blazer and skirt combination.

King Charles III meets people and animals involved in the escort

During the event, they met city officials and volunteers, among others. Horses, riders and farmers were also present. These formed an honor guard with their tractors during the funeral procession from Balmoral to Edinburgh on 11 September. In an emotional moment, King Charles III. the horse that had escorted his mother’s hearse from Balmoral.
