New trailer shows Scorsese in its purest form

The new trailer for “Killers of the Flower Moon” is here – and with it some new insights into Martin Scorsese’s upcoming blockbuster.
For the eagerly awaited “Killers of the Flower Moon”, the new epic film by Martin Scorsese (80), Apple TV+ released a new trailer. Even more than in the first clip, which came out in mid-May this year, it shows Leonardo DiCaprio’s (48) character’s moral dilemma – and the bitter violence that suddenly breaks out over the indigenous Osage tribe.
The white greed – that’s what it’s all about
At the beginning of the 20th century, unexpected oil deposits made the Osage Nation one of the most prosperous peoples in the world almost overnight. However, the new prosperity attracts white invaders who manipulate, blackmail and eventually murder the indigenous people in order to get the money. After a shocking series of murders, the newly formed FBI takes up the investigation.
In the western drama based on a true story, superstar DiCaprio plays the character Ernest Burkhart, a white man who falls in love with the native Mollie Kyle, played by Lily Gladstone (36). Veteran star De Niro plays Burkhart’s father, William Hale. Jesse Plemons (35) and Brendan Fraser (54), who just won an Oscar for “The Whale”, can be seen in other roles.
A classic Scorsese
The new trailer proves that interested film fans can truly look forward to a genuine “Scorsese”: high suspense, violent spikes and finely crafted characters, which this time are even based on real people. The fact that his formula still works was recently made clear at the Cannes Film Festival. At the world premiere there on May 20th of this year, the film and cast received several minutes of standing ovations from the enthusiastic audience.
Select theaters in the US will start showing the film on October 6, 2023. In Germany, “Killers of the Flower Moon” will start in cinemas on October 19th. The film will then be available exclusively on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
