Can Kevin Spacey’s comeback as an actor succeed? Like the magazine Variety reported, the 63-year-old should play a role got in the thriller “Control”.which will be filmed soon.
Spacey fell out of favor in the film industry after being repeatedly accused of sexual assault. This ended the Hollywood career of the two-time Oscar winner abruptly. He was subsequently cut out of the thriller “All the Money in the World” and written out of the series “House of Cards”. Most recently, he had won a sexual harassment lawsuit in New York in October and was acquitted. In the coming year, however, he will have to answer in court again in England for alleged assaults in several cases.

The new film job shouldn’t quite be enough for a real comeback. The project by unknown director Gene Fallaize is a small British independent production and can hardly be compared to Spacey’s previous engagements. Especially since he is not supposed to be seen in it himself, but only to be heard as a voice. But that seems to make the director very happy. Fallaize said Varietyhe grew up with Spacey and is a “lifelong fan”.
Of course he thought about the allegations against the actor, but he has no concerns about hiring him: “He is one of the greatest actors of our generation. Apart from his private life – I can’t say anything about it and I don’t know anything about it – it is a huge opportunity to work with one of the greats.” He had already written the screenplay for “Control” with Spacey in mind, whose voice appearance is said to be similar to Kiefer Sutherland’s voice role in the thriller “Don’t hang up!” from 2002.
The job isn’t Spacey’s first since falling from Hollywood Olympus. In addition to bizarre, self-directed video appearances, he has already played in the small Italian film “L’uomo che disegnò Dio” this year, a supporting role alongside Italian acting icon Franco Nero. So far, however, this has not caused a great deal of attention. Also, according to the International Movie Data Base, he already has finished the action thriller “Peter Five Eight”., which is due to start next year, but also seems to be a rather small production. Whether these new references will be enough to be able to audition again in Hollywood in the medium term will probably not only be decided in the cinema, but also in court next year.
