Kammerspiele: The Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich plays Józef Koffler – Munich

He composed four symphonies, chamber music and arranged Bach and Handel. However, half of the works of Józef Koffler (1896 – 1944) are missing, and only those who actively search for him come across the few CDs with his music. It is all the more commendable that the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich now remembered the Polish composer, who taught harmony and composition in Lviv from 1928 to 1941, at the Kammerspiele. In the same year he was arrested as a Jew, was able to hide in eastern Poland when the ghetto was liquidated, but was discovered and shot with his family in 1944.
