After her Olympic debacle, Kamila Valiewa withdrew from the public. Now the figure skating star is back and hinting at his future.

All eyes have been on her for the past two weeks: Kamila Valiyeva. The 15-year-old from Russia is described as the talent of the century in figure skating. Almost everyone counted on gold. However, the medal in the team competition was not awarded when it was announced that Kamila had tested positive for a doping substance in December. In the freestyle of the individual decision, the nerves did not take part and after several failures, the teenager reached fourth place. While still on the ice, Kamila burst into tears. She disappeared from Beijing without a word.

Now she spoke up on Instagram.

In it Valiyeva writes: “My first Olympiad is finally over and I want to thank those who brought me to this most important event in the life of an athlete – my coaches: Eteri Georgievna Tutberidze, Sergey Viktorovich, Daniil Markovich, Daniil Gleikhengauz. They are absolute masters of their subject! And they not only teach but also teach to overcome oneself, which helps not only in sport but also in life. With you by my side I feel protected and able to pass any exam. Thank you for helping me to be strong.”

Kamila Valiyeva on her future: “I will run for you”

In a second post she goes into more detail about her future. After all, many had wondered if she would stop after the debacle at the Olympics and the suspicion of doping. Instead, she thanks everyone who has helped her and adds: “I will always remember and be grateful and skate for you.”

The young star’s lawyers had announced that they would apply for the opening of the B sample. Then it will probably turn out whether Valiyeva actually did dope.
