Kaitlyn Dever “Hunted” by Creepy Aliens

Warning, really scary movie! Hunted by Brian Duffield, available on Disney+ this Friday, surprises from its first images where a young woman (Kaitlyn Dever, seen in the series Dopesickwhich is almost all plans) sees an alien arrive at her home with not exactly friendly intentions.

“I wanted a fairly classic look, like a “humanoid creature with big eyes,” explains the director in the press kit. And I wanted, from the first second, the audience to also know that it’s an alien, and not, for example, a guy with a monstrous physique who broke into the house. » It works really well. We know right away that aliens exist and that they are indeed there to harm humans who might come across them.

Without words

Highlight : Hunted is almost completely devoid of dialogue. The heroine has very few interactions with her peers: she lives as a recluse, locked in a tragic past that we gradually discover. She’s not just fleeing from belligerent ETs in this brilliantly staged thriller. Brian Duffield centers the action on her and her increasingly hostile and impressive pursuers. Thrills guaranteed in front of these creatures with their empty eyes and tentacled arms. Their grunts breaking the silence in which the heroine believes she finds refuge are enough to haunt nightmares for a long time.

We think of Signs by M. Night Shyamalan in front of this very effective B series which plays on the fear of the unknown and paranoia to keep the viewer in apnea for ninety minutes.
