Since 2011, Kai Pflaume has been leading the duel between small and large.

ARD and NDR continue their collaboration with Kai Pflaume. There the moderator presents, among other things, the show “Small vs. Large”.

Good news for all fans of Kai Pflaume (55): The moderator will remain with ARD and NDR up to and including 2025. “I’m really looking forward to further creative and successful cooperation,” the broadcaster quoted him in a press release. He wants to “continue to present modern and entertaining programs for the whole family on linear television and on digital platforms in the future.”

ARD program director Christine Strobl (51) is also happy about the contract extension. After all, plum is a “guarantee of success” and a “figurehead for the best entertainment”. He has a large fan base and is also popular with younger audiences, which is something to be proud of. NDR director Joachim Knuth (63) adds: “With his wit and charm, he brings together all generations in front of the television. In times of media differentiation, that’s a great achievement.”

1000th edition “Who knows something like that?”

Kai Pflaume leads through the Saturday evening show “Small vs. Large” in the first. In this, children with special talents compete against prominent opponents. With more than five million viewers, the format is Germany’s most successful series of shows.

Pflaume also presents the knowledge quiz “Who knows something like that?” on NDR. with Bernhard Hoëcker (52) and Elton (51). With an extra-long anniversary edition, this will celebrate the 1000th episode on Saturday, February 18 at 8:15 p.m. Katrin Bauerfeind (40), Yvonne Catterfeld (43), Mark Forster (39), Günther Jauch (66), Markus Lanz (53) and Joko Winterscheidt (44) will be guests. Pflaume is also in front of the camera for the rate show “Hard to believe” for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk.
