Three days after his escape in Swabia, the police arrested an escaped prisoner. Police officers picked up the 51-year-old in Munich on Thursday, the investigators said on Platform X (formerly Twitter). The man is now back in prison.
According to earlier police reports, the man fled on foot outside the prison on Monday during a supervised work assignment in Donauwörth. He was housed in the Kaisheim prison.
The police had searched for the prisoner late into the night on Monday, using helicopters, thermal imaging drones and sniffer dogs, among other things. Emergency services also checked trains and buses. According to the police, there was no danger to the population.
