Justice suspends the order prohibiting rapper Freeze Corleone from performing in Rennes

Free Corleone. Rapper Freeze Corleone has obtained the suspension of the municipal decree which prohibited him from performing on March 18 in Rennes. The municipality nevertheless indicated that it was going to file an appeal before the Council of State while the rapper is scheduled on March 18 for the rap festival “Booming fest Rennes”.

In her decree of February 28, the PS mayor of Rennes Nathalie Appéré recalled that the rapper “was the subject, at the request of the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA), of an investigation by the part of the Ministry of the Interior, for words deemed anti-Semitic, advocating Nazism and terrorism”.

“Such remarks are likely to greatly exacerbate the already strong tensions between various extreme political groups present in Rennes”, underlined the elected official. Noting that “the programming of this concert is already arousing many debates and reactions within the local population”, the mayor considers “that a proven risk of disturbing public order is to be feared in this period”.
