From “Bridgerton” to “Jurassic World”? Jonathan Bailey is set to star in the new film in the Dino franchise.
The makers of the new “Jurassic World” film are said to have their eye on Jonathan Bailey (35). According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, the Brit is in discussion for the male lead. The latest installment in the dinosaur franchise is scheduled to hit theaters next year, on July 2, 2025. Universal Pictures had the project in February of this year via Instagram announced.
Jonathan Bailey made a name for himself with “Bridgerton”. He played one of the main roles as Anthony Bridgerton in the successful Netflix series. The celebrated stage actor previously attracted attention in the first two seasons of the crime series “Broadchurch”. His breakthrough as a film star is yet to come. In November of this year, Bailey will be seen in the first part of the musical film adaptation “Wicked”.

Gareth Edwards (48) has already been confirmed as director. The “The Creator” maker already gained experience with gigantic lizards with “Godzilla” in 2014. An official title is not yet known, but rumor has it that it will be “Jurassic City.” After the “Jurassic Park” trilogy (1993-2001) and the three “Jurassic World” films (2015-2022), the film would be the reboot of a new series, although it was initially advertised as part of “Jurassic World”. .
