A lie made her famous: in 2002, Djamila Rowe claimed to have an affair with the Swiss ambassador at the time. She later had to revoke that, but her name was on everyone’s lips. Now she is fighting for the jungle crown in 2023.
The new season of the RTL format “I’m a star – get me out of here!” starts on January 13th. After two years of Corona, the show is taking place again in Australia. That’s where RTL brought the twelve more or less prominent participants. the star introduces them in turn. Today: Djamila Rowe.

Who is Djamila Rowe?
Rowe originally worked as a make-up artist at KaDeWe, later she also performed as a nude dancer. She gained national fame in 2002 when she claimed in the Swiss newspaper “SonntagsBlick” that she had an affair with the then Swiss Ambassador Thomas Borer. Borer then resigned from his job. Rowe later recanted her statement.
The biggest success
Rowe used the “fame” she gained through the “ambassador affair” for TV appearances. In 2004 she took part in the reality show “Die Alm” (ProSieben), in 2006 she was allowed to stop by RTL2 in the “Big Brother” house and had a guest appearance there. She was last seen in 2017 in the nude show “Adam sucht Eva – Celebrities in Paradise”. In 2021 she took part in the “jungle show”, which took place instead of the jungle camp that had failed due to Corona – her biggest success to date.

- Because her parents fled to the West, Djamila initially grew up with her grandparents.
- She wanted to complete an apprenticeship as a saleswoman in the Intershop, which according to her account was prevented by the Stasi.
- By her own admission, she hasn’t had sex in 12 years.
