Thursday, a 21-month-old child was found dead in Yvelines, with traces of bruises on his body. A judicial investigation into intentional homicide of a minor under 15 years old will be opened this Saturday after this tragedy, the Versailles prosecutor’s office said this Saturday.
Started Thursday evening, the custody of the 31-year-old father and the 28-year-old mother was extended on Friday evening, the prosecution further clarified. According to the first elements of the investigation, emergency services were called Thursday morning to a hotel in Epône to help a child in cardiorespiratory arrest, but quickly noted his death.
Traces of bruises
The doctor present on site estimated that the death of the child, born in March 2022, had occurred a few hours earlier and noted traces of bruising on the body, indicates a police source.
After the parents were taken into custody, two other children, aged eight months and eight years old, were handed over to the police. The investigation is being carried out by the Yvelines departmental security.
