Football coach gets his own Netflix documentary
From 2025, “The Special One” aka José Mourinho can be seen in a documentary on Netflix.

Legendary football coach José Mourinho has experienced ups and downs in his career – now he’s getting a documentary series on Netflix.
The Portuguese football coach José Mourinho (61) is considered one of the most successful football coaches of the 21st century. Now the sports star is being honored by streaming provider Netflix with its own documentary, as was announced at the “Next On Netflix UK” event in London.
“The Special One” on Netflix
According to the streaming service’s official press release, the documentary series “covers his time at Chelsea FC, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma”. It follows in the footsteps of the four-part Beckham series released in October 2023 and will feature exclusive interviews with Mourinho and players who played under him. The start is planned for January 2025. Mourinho himself already shared a first cover photo on his Instagram account.
More sports documentaries planned
In addition to Mourinho, Netflix announced a number of other sports documentaries, including the story of the young tennis player Carlos Alcaraz (20) and the anthology documentary series “UNTOLD UK”, which highlights moments and personalities from the world of British football. The documentary “The Final: Attack on Wembley” will start in May 2024 and shows the events surrounding the final of the 2020 European Football Championship.
