STORY: At least twelve people died in a poison gas accident in Jordan. More than 250 others were injured. Recordings from a surveillance camera show the course of the disaster on Monday in the port of the city of Aqaba. Workers try to heave a container of chlorine gas aboard a ship. The dangerous cargo is destined for export to Djibouti. Suddenly the tank crashes and leaks. A toxic yellow cloud of chlorine gas spreads out in a matter of seconds. With regard to the injured, the Jordanian Ministry of Health expressed confidence on Tuesday. Only a few of them would have to remain in the hospital, it said. The authorities were also concerned about a possible contamination of grain cargo in the port. However, according to Jordanian state media, the manager responsible for the silos gave the all-clear. At the time of the accident, no grain had been loaded.
