Jewish woman stabbed in Lyon denounces a “cowardly act”

The young Jewish woman stabbed on Saturday November 4 spoke out on social networks.

“I’m fine,” reacted on Facebook the young Jewish woman stabbed in the afternoon of Saturday, November 4. The thirty-year-old denounces “a cowardly and serious act in fact but not serious”. She also hopes that the “person is found and that they do not attack anyone else.”

And added: “No legitimacy to complain (…) Thousands of my brothers and sisters are really fighting and suffering from terrorism.”

A complaint filed

The victim, treated at Édouard-Herriot hospital, was released this Sunday around noon. His injuries “required stitches,” said his lawyer, Me Stéphane Drai. He specified that his client had filed a complaint during her hospitalization.

This Saturday, November 4, an individual dressed in black, with his face hidden under a hood, rang the bell at this woman’s home around 1 p.m. then stabbed her twice in the abdomen when she opened the door. The Lyon public prosecutor’s office announced the opening of an investigation into “attempted murder aggravated by the fact that the act could be motivated by an anti-Semitic motive”.

No arrests have taken place at this stage.
