From “Shameless” to “The Bear”
Far from being a novice, Jeremy Allen White made a place for himself in 2011 in the world of series thanks to the character of “Lip” Gallagher in the gritty American adaptation of Shameless on Showtime. Second in a tribe of “white trash” from an industrial neighborhood in Chicago, his character, one of Fiona’s (Emmy Rossum) five brothers and sisters, is promised a bright future if he doesn’t walk in the not his alcoholic father, Frank (William H. Macy), who ruins his life. He burst onto the small screen for ten years in this role of a gifted dark blond whose destiny was shattered by addictions.
In 2022, we find him behind the apron of a former gourmet chef returning to Chicago to save the family sandwich shop after the suicide of his brother Michael Berzatto, known as “Bear”. A Golden Globe and a Calvin Klein campaign
Critical and public success, The Bear, nominated 13 times for Emmy Awards, propelled him into the upper echelons of Hollywood. Jeremy Allen White, candidate for the Emmy for best actor in a comedy, already won a Golden Globe this Sunday, the American Actors Union award. We saw him last August in the romantic science fiction film Fingernails from AppleTV + and he arrives on January 24 in theaters alongside Zac Efron in Iron Claw.
