Jazz in Ebersberg – So it goes on – Ebersberg

Now the start of “EBE-Jazz 2021” is over, but you don’t have to wait long before it continues. Thelonious Monk is one of the founding fathers of bebop and is considered a pioneer of the modern jazz piano. An evening at the cinema on Tuesday, October 12th at 7.30 p.m. in the Grafinger library is dedicated to him. You can see “Straight no chaser”, a fascinating portrait of the legendary and idiosyncratic musician. Another legend, the singer Billie Holiday, will be the focus of the “Wednesday Cinema” on October 13th at 8 pm in the old cinema in Ebersberg. A spectacular documentary is shown with previously unheard tape recordings.

The French bassist Michel Benita and his quartet will bridge the gap between traditional acoustic jazz and the electronic present on Thursday, October 14th at 8 p.m. in the Alten Speicher. The audience can expect poetic nu-jazz: flowing music, through which fine cantilenas of the flugelhorn run, carried by a delicate rhythmic foundation and enriched by electronic ingredients from the keyboard. A European percussion legend will take the stage at the Alten Speicher on Friday, October 15th at 8 p.m.: Daniel Humair. Together with Samuel Blaser on the trombone and Heiri Känzig on the double bass, the Swiss present traditional and modern, themes from glorious times and original compositions. As a guest: the Hungarian pianist Emil Spányi.

Tickets, the festival pass and further information are available at the advance booking office in the Alten Speicher or on (08092) 255 92 05. Individual tickets and the program are also available at https://ebe-jazz.de/
