James Webb telescope: Earth-like planet detected for the first time

The hunt is on. With the new “James Webb” space telescope, researchers have detected an alien planet for the first time. When will they find the first habitable celestial body outside of our solar system?

Some words have a different meaning in the vastness of the universe than on earth. The planet that astrophysicists found outside of our solar system is “relatively close,” the American space agency Nasa announced this week. It is 41 light years from Earth. Now 41 light years is small compared to the diameter of our home galaxy, the Milky Way. However, if you convert the distance into kilometers, the result is an unimaginably large and unattainable distance with 14 zeros. By “near” most people mean something else.
