The 53-year-old was on vacation in Jamaica with his family. What should have been a dream trip turned into a tragedy for all fellow travelers.

It was supposed to be a dream vacation for a British family, but the trip ended in tragedy. Timothy S., 53, had flown to Jamaica with his children, sister and a group of other relatives to spend a few relaxing days on the beach. But the family man from Staffordshire, England, would not return home alive.

On a vacation day that started very leisurely, the unthinkable happened. S. and some of his relatives had already had a few beers on the beach that morning. The man is also said to have approved himself a brandy. It shouldn’t be more alcohol that day – actually. Because in the evening the British family met two Canadians at the beach bar, one of whom was celebrating her birthday there. We got along great and started chatting. The Women reported a crazy “challenge” they had set themselves: they wanted to have drunk every cocktail on the menu within 24 hours.

Man drank 12 cocktails and collapsed

Whether they meant it seriously – uncertain. However, Timothy S. and his companions liked the idea and wanted to take part. However, none of those present seemed to have tackled the challenge as resolutely as the 53-year-old: he drank 12 cocktails in the tropical Caribbean heat. But then he started to feel very bad. The Brit went back to the hotel and reached his room. There he collapsed.

His sister noticed the emergency and alerted the front desk, who dispatched a resident nurse to S.’s room. The woman took care of the unconscious man, who soon afterwards vomited violently. But the help was not enough: Timothy S. died. His family was left completely shocked. But not only that – the relatives also raise serious allegations against the hotel. Because according to his sister, the 53-year-old could have been saved under different circumstances.

Family criticizes hotel and first responder

So she was stunned that the hotel nurse did not immediately call an ambulance. That only happened when the family asked about it – much too late. In addition, the sister of the deceased said that the woman seemed inexperienced to her and did not seem to have known, for example, how a heart-lung massage works. The family now wants to sue the hotel and the nurse.
