It was just cheap, the inverter. Bernd K., 63, from near Giessen, put together his own photovoltaic system. “You look at the money,” he says. This also applies to the inverter, i.e. the device that converts the electricity generated so that it can be fed into the power grid. He paid around half as much as other providers for his device from Renac Power, a Chinese manufacturer. “And it does what it’s supposed to do – except for this story.”
