A group of financial investors is taking over the IT security company McAfee for a double-digit billion sum. The holding companies, including Advent and Permira, paid $ 26 per share, McAfee said. The group will be valued including debts with more than 14 billion dollars or 12.1 billion euros, it said. The transaction should be completed in the first half of 2022. The investors plan to take McAfee off the stock exchange, the company should then focus on security applications for private customers. The 26 dollars correspond to a premium of around 22.6 percent to the closing price on Thursday, so before takeover speculation arose. Shares soared on Friday, according to a report from the Wall Street Journals up by around a fifth to $ 25.46.
