The police have arrested a con artist from Ismaning who is said to have helped bring thousands of euros in cash to a pensioner in the Munich district. As the Munich criminal police have determined, the 21-year-old is said to have appeared on May 6 last year with the 80-year-old man to receive the money under false pretenses. His accomplices had called the man, posing as police officers, who said there had been a burglary down the street. The perpetrators had worked together with a bank employee and also circulated counterfeit money. The bona fide victim then packed his money in a box and gave it to the 21-year-old. An investigating judge has arranged for him to be held in custody.
