Sane? Kroos brother expresses doubts
Does Leroy Sané have to stay at home at the European Championships? Felix Kroos explains why he at least has doubts about participation.

“For me that’s a case: either starting eleven or not in the squad. I don’t think you can use him on the bench,” Kroos said on the show Image sports at World. In terms of his nature, Sané is “perhaps someone who is not good for a team like this from the bench”.

Kroos then explained his thoughts: “He is an incredibly good player and has all the qualities. But, if he doesn’t play from the start, I think he could become someone difficult. You can’t use that at a European Championship.”

“If you look at the past, it is always important to have a functioning group. If he can subordinate himself there, even as a non-starting eleven player, he is of course also very welcome as a joker with his qualities,” said Kroos, admitting that he does not know Sané personally. “If the national coach can assess it better, that’s how it should be, then he will decide differently. This is now viewed from the outside.”
It will be many weeks before Nagelmann’s decision is made. But Sané is suspended for three international matches after being sent off in November and will only be able to wear a DFB uniform again in the last preparatory game in Mönchengladbach against Greece on June 7th.
Sané still plays an important role for Nagelsmann. The Bayern star is traveling to the national team in Frankfurt on Tuesday as part of a team-building exercise and will also watch the friendly against the Netherlands from the stands in the evening.
