At the beginning of the millennium there was in the ultra-pious city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran a series of murders. One woman after another was found dead, strangled with her own headscarf. The killer seemed very safe, he just dumped the bodies somewhere in town, not even bothering to hide them. He even contacted a journalist anonymously to make sure everyone was found.
