Investigation opened against the mayor of Stains Azzédine Taïbi, accused of sexual assault

One of his collaborators accuses him of sexual assault and harassment. An investigation has been opened against the mayor (ex-PCF) of Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis) Azzédine Taïbi, the Bobigny prosecution said on Friday, confirming information from the Parisian. The investigation was entrusted to the Brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person (BRDP). It follows a complaint filed by an employee of Azzedine Taïbi for facts dating back to 2022, said the prosecution.

This collaborator denounces in his complaint a sexual assault committed by the mayor during a car trip for the annual seminar of elected officials in the Loir-et-Cher, according to the Parisian. The plaintiff also reports “abnormal behavior” by Azzedine Taïbi when he accompanied him to a hammam in Boulogne-Billancourt.

Unannounced and morning visits

According to his story, during the session, Mr. Taïbi would have asked him to “spread the soap” on his back and on “the sex”. He would have refused. He also explains that he received several unexpected early morning visits from the mayor, armed with “croissants”, in the room he occupied and made available by the municipality.

Contacted several times, Azzedine Taïbi did not respond to AFP’s requests. Elected since 2014 in Stains, Azzedine Taïbi declares himself “still a communist” but is no longer a member of the PCF since his rallying to Jean-Luc Mélenchon during the last presidential campaign.
