An investigation into intentional homicide was opened by the Marseille prosecutor’s office after the death of a woman and the serious injury of her son in the fire in an apartment that occurred this Saturday evening, reports Provence.
Called for a fire around 9 p.m., the firefighters arrived and saw that an occupant of this apartment located on the fourth floor out of twelve of a building in the Campagne-Lévêque city had broken out of the window. He was taken seriously injured and unconscious to hospital with his life threatening.
After putting out the fire, the firefighters found the charred body of a woman, identified as the mother of the young man who jumped out of the window. According to the Provençal daily, the son is considered a suspect in this affair.
