Interview with opera director Barrie Kosky about his “Fledermaus” in Munich – Culture

Barrie Kosky was born in Melbourne in 1967 as the grandson of Jewish immigrants, came to Europe 23 years ago, soon made a splash as a musical theater director and directed the Komische Oper in Berlin for ten years. He has had German citizenship since 2017. He is currently staging “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss at the Bavarian State Opera (premiere December 23rd).
