Interview with odor researcher: Does money stink, Ms. Tolaas?

The smell researcher Sissel Tolaas knows the best way through life: Always follow your nose!

Ms. Tolaas, how sensitive is your nose at Christmas time?
My nose is always ready to pick up influences. I understand that people need the scent of cinnamon and pine green to get in the Christmas spirit. Rituals are important. Smells can help make them last longer.

How about you?
I grew up in Norway with dark winters and light summers, the weather there is full of extremes. But Christian rituals are not important to me, I follow the pagan ones. December 21st is winter solstice, this day is special for me.
