Christian Härtnagel, 40, started 20 years ago as a part-time cashier at Lidl. He has been head of Lidl Germany since February 2022. With 3,250 branches, 39 logistics and administration locations and more than 100,000 employees, the German market is the largest of the food discounter. The company opened its first branch in Ludwigshafen 50 years ago.
