Interview with Kempinski boss Bernold Schroeder – economy

Kempinski has achieved its best-ever result in 2022. The head of the luxury hotel group, Bernold Schroeder, explains why guests are different and more powerful today and why rooms sometimes have to be empty.

A Lamborghini and a Porsche are parked outside the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten on Maximilianstrasse in Munich. Inside, the hall is quite crowded, the hotel is well frequented. Bernold Schroeder is sitting in the Hofgarten room, immediately to the right. The CEO of Kempinski, the last large luxury hotel group in Germany, is perfectly dressed, dark tailor-made suit, tie, handkerchief. And in a very good mood. No wonder: business is back after the Corona crisis, and surprisingly well. But a lot is different now.
