Hans Maier was born on June 18, 1931 in Freiburg im Breisgau, where he completed his habilitation after studying history, modern languages ​​and social sciences at the local university. He ended up in Munich because he became a professor of political science at the university there. The 92-year-old is a member of the German Academy of Language and Poetry, the Bavarian Academies of Sciences and Fine Arts and a recipient of the Bavarian Order of Maximilian.
