The devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria has killed more than 10,000 people and hundreds are still missing under the rubble. Especially in Turkey the destruction is enormous. 5700 buildings have collapsed there alone. The risk of earthquakes in the region is well known. The construction expert Norbert Gebekken is stunned that many buildings were obviously not adequately prepared for such an event. In an interview he explains Turkey’s problems.
