In train traffic between Hanover and Soltau (Heidekreis district), rail customers must expect restrictions on Fridays and weekends. Two signal boxes are out of order.
The cause is said to be a lack of staff due to many sick employees at DB Netz. The signal box in Soltau was affected on Friday afternoon, as the railway company Start Niedersachsen Mitte announced at the request of the NDR Lower Saxony. Trains from Hanover only run to Dorfmark until around 6 p.m. All trains between Dorfmark and Buchholz in der Nordheide are canceled during this period. Passengers can only get from Dorfmark to Soltau by bus. A corresponding replacement service has been set up. “However, we would like to point out that the bus service has limited capacity and longer travel times compared to the train,” it said.
The signal box in Visselhövede also remains unmanned
At the weekend, the trains from Hanover to Soltau should run again. On the other hand, trains on the route from Soltau to Bremen continue to be canceled on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m., according to a railway spokeswoman. Because on these days the signal box in Visselhövede (Rotenburg/Wümme district) remains unmanned. A replacement bus service has been set up between Verden and Soltau.
Due to the disruption, the railway is assuming “massive impairments” for the route of the RB 37 (Uelzen – Soltau – Bremen) and RB38 (Dorfmark – Buchholz in der Nordheide) lines.
