The economist Armin Falk is not taking over the management of the Institute for the Future of Work (IZA). Falk asked to withdraw his appointment, the Deutsche Post Foundation, which finances the institute, said on Monday. This withdrawal follows an open letter from 700 researchers who criticized Falk’s handling of serious allegations and ultimately demanded his resignation. IZA and its sponsor Deutsche Post-Stiftung explain that they are taking up this criticism “constructively”.
