Instead of embarrassing tips: the Spanish government shows how to save energy | politics

Spain shows how it can be done.

Instead of the citizens with embarrassing savings tips ( shorter shower times) the Spanish government is now doing exactly what BILD has been demanding of the federal government for weeks: start saving energy yourself.

► In the future, all public buildings will be cooled to no less than 27 degrees in summer and heated to a maximum of 19 degrees in winter. From 10:00 p.m., the electricity is also turned off, and monument lighting is then also switched off.

In order to protect private households from bottlenecks, department stores, cinemas, workplaces, hotels, train stations and airports are also affected by the new energy saving rules.

In Germany, on the other hand, a traffic light master plan for saving energy is still a long way off. So far, it has remained with politicians’ savings tips for private households and declarations of intent from individual federal states (such as Baden-Württemberg).
