Inspired the series “The Good Mothers”: Prosecutor Cerretti – Panorama

From

Marc Beise

Alessandra Cerreti is from Sicily and grew up surrounded by the mafia. Alessandra was just a child when American director Francis Ford Coppola came to a town in her region to shoot scenes for what became the epitome of bizarre mafia romance, The Godfather. For years, tourists would turn up and ask directions to the “godfather’s village,” Cerreti later said, and she never understood how tyranny and killing could be celebrated. As an elementary school student, she answered the popular essay question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” with becoming a prosecutor – and wanting to put Mafiosi in prison. And that’s how it happened, exactly like that.
