Inflation rate – Greeks feel inflation – economy

In April, inflation in Greece reached 10.2 percent for the first time in 28 years. This was announced by the National Statistical Office (Elstat). In April 1994, when the country still had the drachma as its national currency, inflation in Greece climbed to comparable levels (10.9 percent). Inflation is galloping because of the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the rise in the price of raw materials, food and fertilizers and high energy prices, agricultural associations, hoteliers and industry representatives said in Greek media. The conservative government is trying to help the citizens.
