Everything should have started with a bet. In an architecture office, Dieter Rams received a newspaper advertisement from a colleague, a company called Braun was looking for someone for permanent employment. That was in the mid-fifties, Rams hadn’t heard from von Braun – formerly a small engineering workshop in Frankfurt – at that time, but he got involved in the competition with his colleague about who would get this job.
