Joshua Kimmich: Very weak first half from the captain. Was taken into man-marking by Torreira and had enormous difficulties. Lost the ball nine times in the first half alone. More stable after the break, but still without confidence.

Konrad Laimer: The only Bayern player who resisted robustly and passionately in the first half – but also often seemed lost. Very committed to the game against the ball, although the Austrian often came half a step too late. Ran into holes after the break and also won more direct duels. Playful, but without any major accents.

Leroy Sane: Not as strong as in many games in recent weeks, but he set up Comas for the opening goal and provided some relief with his tempo runs. Missed a great chance in the 50th minute and was denied by Gala keeper Muslera after just under an hour. Had the most shots on goal for Bayern (4).

Jamal Musiala: Often picked up the ball deep in his own half and then moved up. However, he got stuck again and again and lost the balls in dangerous areas. Musiala, along with Bayern’s other attacking players, failed to take advantage of Gala’s risk-taking style of play in the first half, as they defended one-on-one at the back. Against the increasingly tired Turks, the difference player was, as so often, the difference: assist to make it 2-1, goal to make it 3-1.

Kingsley Coman (until 83rd): Scored his fourth goal in the last three games with his first shot on goal. Was otherwise unusually busy on defense, which made the path to the gala goal very long. Was extremely keen to run and played most of Bayern’s passes in the opposition half (26), 80 percent of which were received. Overall, not as noticeable as Sané.

Harry Kane (until 87): Had a difficult time in the front line and wasn’t a factor for a long time because Bayern were too busy defending. As usual, he dropped into midfield, but then found no takers. Bouna Sarr (from 78th minute for Mazraoui): The Senegalese’s unremarkable Champions League comeback at right back was limited to not making any mistakes.

Mathys Tel (from 83rd for Coman): Had a shot on goal shortly before the end, but otherwise there was no scene worth mentioning.

Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting (from 83rd for Kane): With his physical presence he helped Bayern secure the victory in the end. Remarkably, he was preferred to Thomas Müller, who remained out for 90 minutes.
