Rodez is officially maintained in Ligue 2. The LFP disciplinary committee delivered its verdict on Monday after the attack on Rodez player Lucas Buades during the last day of Ligue 2 between Bordeaux and Rodez. The commission noted “the intrusion of a supporter to deliberately physically harm a player who had just scored a goal” and therefore took several decisions against the Girondins.
Annecy relegated to National
Starting with “the loss by penalty of the meeting FC Girondins de Bordeaux – Rodez Aveyron Football counting for the 38th day of Ligue 2 BKT”, as well as the “withdrawal of a firm point for the 2023-2024 season”, accompanied by the “closure for two firm matches and two suspended matches of the South Tribune of the Matmut Atlantique”. With this victory on the green carpet, Rodez goes back to 16th place in the Ligue 2 standings with 46 points, which allows him to overtake Annecy and Valenciennes, and above all to maintain himself for next season. And it is Annecy which falls to 17th place and which is therefore relegated to National. The Girondins remain officially 3rd in Ligue 2, but indicate that they want to “seize the CNOSF to defend their rights and sporting equity”.
