Clip-on microphone battery empty – “Tagesschau” fails
It is extremely rare for the “Tagesschau” to be canceled. It happened in the morning on Monday. The reason for this was a technical glitch.
Due to an uncharged battery, a shipment was canceled on Monday morning ARD news program “Tagesschau” canceled. Although the batteries are replaced every shift, the battery of speaker Susanne Daubner’s lapel microphone was empty, a spokeswoman for Norddeutscher Rundfunk told the German Press Agency.
As a result, the 7:30 a.m. news could not be broadcast as planned. Instead, the presenters of the ARD “morning magazine” were seen talking to each other on the sofa. Meanwhile, in the background, those watching could watch Susanne Daubner searching for a quick solution.
The 8:00 a.m. program was finally broadcast again as usual.
