In the middle of summer – Mama will mix it – Ebersberg

July is the Advent of summer! This is a finding that one comes to at the latest when the offspring is of kindergarten or primary school age and also a member of a sports club. Now one festival follows the next.

Yes, there are many opportunities for get-togethers in July: the after-school care center is celebrating the summer, the football club is celebrating the end of the season and the elementary school is celebrating the letter festival, to name just a few of the highlights that will befall the family in the coming days and weeks. And just like in Advent, lists will be put out in which you can enter what delicacies are brought to the celebration. Except this time it’s not about cookies. By the way, you have to be quick here and tick the less complicated things: ten pretzels can be obtained much faster than a platter of lovingly carved fruit and vegetables is prepared. Nevertheless, you will not be able to avoid one or the other cake.

But watch out! Not everything that tastes good should really go into the cake! Please do not forget to declare what is in the so-called list of ingredients! The list must then be handed in with the cake. It’s also stupid when your son just signed you up for the cocktail service at the summer party. And when asked whether drinks can also be mixed with alcohol, the answer is no, after all you are in a children’s home. Caipirinha and Aperol Spritz are just as unpopular in summer as mulled wine and punch in winter. Of course, little or no alcohol consumption also helps to plan your week better during these hard party times.

Because one thing should not happen if possible: that the cake is in the wrong place at the wrong time or that the child is dressed for the wrong occasion. Already seen everything! If suddenly a single Elsa (the ice queen, editor’s note) shows up in the midst of a bunch of normally dressed children, the email that the child is welcome to come dressed up may have been assigned to the wrong festival. Not nice for the child, but not for the mother either. You suffer with her and would now like to mix the right cocktail for her. The good thing about Advent is just like July: At the end of the day, the holidays begin, giving you enough time to recover from the turbulence of the last few weeks.

Speaking of turbulence: This year, a flight has been planned for a long time. From what one hears, one can only hope that the check-in at the airport will not be as exciting as waiting for Santa Claus. In this case, one would at least prefer to do without a “nice gift”.
