In the middle of Neufahrn – Grandma Anni’s socks – Freising

Anna Jungmeier, 84, is passionate about knitting socks. She takes orders via Instagram. She donates the sales proceeds to the social station every year.

There are stories that are so beautiful that you just have to tell them. For example this one, which Neufahrn’s social affairs officer Beate Frommhold-Buhl sent to the editorial team. In Neufahrn there is 84-year-old Anna Jungmeier, who has been paying a visit to the senior day care center in the Neufahrn welfare station at the turn of the year for nine years. She is accompanied by her granddaughter or daughter-in-law.

Each time she has an envelope with her with the annual proceeds from the sale of her hand-knitted socks. The pensioner came to the welfare center through her deceased husband. He was a regular guest at the senior citizens’ day meeting. “I took a deep breath and lazed a bit while my husband was there, he really enjoyed the varied company,” she says.

Knitting socks is Anna Jungmeier’s passion, she initially sold them at the Christmas market. But then Corona came and the event had to be canceled. The granddaughter had the saving idea. Your grandma got her own Instagram account.

You can contact her via “annisoma socks”, write to her and order socks. “Hi there! I’m Anni and I like to knit socks for my life. The wool is of high quality and the proceeds go to the welfare station in Neufahrn!”

You also learn that the socks are made of 75 percent new wool and 25 percent polyamide and that they can be machine washed at 30 degrees. On request, Anni-Grandma can also make cute little baby shoes from very soft wool. It is quite possible that Grandma Anni will soon have more to do.
