In Pantin, “Dutch crossroads” are developing for cyclists

The new crossroads near the Hoche metro station, in Panti (Seine-Saint-Denis) – Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Council

Since the health crisis, coronapists have developed in Paris and Ile-de-France. In the capital, the 50 kilometers of coronapistes promised by the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, are now perpetuated. “60 kilometers of tracks have been completed. There are still some missing, we should arrive at 65 kilometers, ”says one to the town hall of Paris.

Ile-de-France is not to be outdone and like the “coronagiratoire” of the Place de Catalogne (14th arrondissement), Pantin (Seine-Saint-Denis) now hosts “Dutch crossroads”.

“A novelty for the department”

“Conceived within the framework of the semi-perpetuation of a“ coronapiste ”, on an axis particularly frequented by bicycles since the beginning of the crisis (RD933), these two crossroads represent a novelty for the department of Seine-Saint- Denis ”, indicates the Departmental Council.

“Before here, it was a no-go zone for cycling, it was impossible to imagine cycling on the ex-RN3. Finally, we obtain a rebalancing of the public space for cyclists ”, affirms to France Blue Paris, Louis Belenfant, director of the Vélo Ile-de-France collective. This arrangement allows more security.

The departmental council does not intend to stop there and wishes to perpetuate and further develop in the coming months, the facilities for cyclists.
