In Marseille, middle school students say “no” to the single outfit

This was to be one of the Bouches-du-Rhône schools experimenting with wearing a uniform at the start of the next school year. Located in the city center of Marseille, in the 4th arrondissement, the Chape college had in any case applied via its management to participate in the experiment wanted by the government, and again called for by Emmanuel Macron during his press conference.

However, the survey organized among some 500 middle school students via the Pronote software is suspending the project for the moment. According to Provencethe students gave a frank and rather massive “no”: 66% of them opposed wearing the uniform (out of a participation of 75%).

In Marseille, three other colleges offered to participate in the experiment: the Edmond Rostand college, the Château-Forbin college and the future international city. “As part of the experiment, part of the cost will be borne by both the department and the State,” promised Martine Vassal, president of the departmental council.
