In Manchester, “Paul Pogba was late every day”, assures Nemanja Matic

Provisionally suspended since September 11 by the Italian anti-doping agency, after a positive test for testosterone in the Juventus jersey, Paul Pogba remains awaiting the duration of his punishment, which can reach four years. At 30, the 2018 world champion is at rock bottom, after a sometimes brilliant but not always exemplary career.

Interviewed by beIN Sports, Rennes midfielder Nemanja Matic spoke about their shared adventure at Manchester United, between 2017 and 2022. “Arriving late can obviously happen to anyone, in any job, because we sleep too long, once a year, says the Serb. But at Manchester United, it happened every day that someone was late. And in general the same players were late every day, Paul Pogba and [Jadon] Sancho among others. »

Matic then transformed itself into a CPE, writing “a rule book with possible fines for delays”. He claims to have collected 75,000 pounds (87,500 euros) in one season.

“Paul Pogba is a very good guy”

“We wanted to have a party in London [avec ce montant]but we couldn’t because of the Covid-19 pandemic [en 2020] and we decided to give the amount to the club staff so that they could share it,” he explains.

However, the former Chelsea player (2014-2017) – where “we didn’t have these kinds of problems”, he assures – visibly retains tenderness for the Pickaxe: “Paul Pogba is a very good guy , a brilliant football player and I feel sorry for him because I know he had a lot of injury problems last year. I sincerely hope this will pass. » If there was only this concern, everything would be (almost) fine for the Frenchman.
