In Lot-et-Garonne, the candidate Together! stands against Nupes

The second constituency of Lot-et-Garonne is one of the few sectors where a triangle was announced. RN MEP Hélène Laporte came in well ahead with 30.55%, followed by Nupes candidate Christophe Courregelongue (26.03%). The outgoing MP Together! Alexandre Freschi qualified with 25.62%. This Tuesday Together! announces that his candidate was withdrawing in favor of Nupes but he contradicts his party by confirming his continuation in a press release that same day.

A call to vote for candidate Nupes

“In this configuration, it is clear that there is a real risk of victory for the far right, reacted Together! in a press release on Tuesday. The presidential majority will therefore have no candidate in the second round in this constituency, and calls on voters to mobilize and vote for the candidate Christophe Courregelongue”.

But Alexandre Freschi will not follow the national instructions: “We do not give in to political apparatuses. Local support and territorial anchoring are much more powerful,” he argues. Definitely, the dissonances on the attitude to adopt for the second round do not seem extinguished.
