Her charisma seems unshakable: during our conversation in a café near her Munich apartment, Volha Hapeyeva keeps beaming. Despite having just recovered from Covid and despite the exile in which the Belarusian writer has been living for two years. The 40-year-old made the latter the subject of one Essays, for which she is currently receiving the Word Requests Award for critical short texts received from the Crespo Foundation.
